Dress Code & Guest Policies

The purpose of the Club's dress code is to provide members and their guests with a guide to appropriate dress when utilizing the facilities at Forest Hill Field Club. The dress code is always in effect, anywhere on the club grounds. Members are responsible for insuring that their guest's attire and appearance conform to the standards outlined below. Please be aware that the Club Management Staff and their designees must deny access to the facilities should members or their guests not conform to the dress code.

General Dress Code

Country Club Casual is preferred in all facilities. Denim is permissible in the Clubhouse. Exceptions will be made for special functions such as Thanksgiving Dinner, Mother’s Day etc when more formal attire may be desired. Please contact the Clubhouse receptionist at (973) 743-1255 with questions regarding specific events.

Sweat suits, jogging suits, cutoffs, short shorts, mini-skirts, cargo shorts or cargo pants, are always unacceptable. T-shirts, tank tops and tennis attire are also always unacceptable except in the pool and work out areas. In addition, shirts with slogans, pictures, and unusual or large logos are not permitted. Caps and hats, when worn indoors, are only allowed on the first floor with the bill forward.

The changing of attire and golf shoes, is restricted to the locker room areas only. This rule will be strictly enforced for members and guests at all times.

Swim & Workout

Swimming and workout attire is allowed only in their respective areas. Proper covering is required when entering and exiting these areas. Locker room facilities are provided in the pool area and should be utilized for changing.
Beach-type flip flops are not acceptable footwear within the Clubhouse except the locker room.

Electronic Devices / Smoking

Cell phone use is not permitted on the second floor at any time.
All enclosed areas of Forest Hill Field Club are designated non-smoking.

Tipping

Tipping is encouraged for locker room attendants, valet parkers, and coat check. Tipping of food service staff is at your discretion.

Golf Course Dress Code

Golf shirts must be tucked in at all times except golf shirts for women that are specifically designed to be worn outside.
Only spikeless shoes, including soft spikes, golf shoes with rubber treads, and sneakers are permitted on the golf course and practice facilities.
Caps must be worn with the bill forward.

Men:

Collared golf shirts with at least one inch collar or mock turtlenecks with sleeves and at least a one inch collar, Bermuda length shorts (no higher then four inches above the knee) or slacks.

Women:

Appropriate golf shirts, round neck collarless shirt with sleeves or a shirt with a collar and no sleeves, turtlenecks, dresses, skirts, split skirts, Bermuda length shorts (no higher then four above the knee) Capri pants and slacks.
